The mission of World Figure Sport is to:
- Be a global brand and an Athletic Art for Skating Artists of all ages, levels, and body types.
- Uphold, protect and expand the knowledge, art and competition of Figures & Fancy Skating – the Art of Skating worldwide.
- Provide a global brand/organization for the World Figure & Fancy Skating Championships on black ice.
- Bring the Art of Figures and Fancy Skating to any place on earth.
- To make skating more fun, cost efficient and effective for all body types and ages.
- Create an innovative approach to the training of Skating Artists that welcomes diversity and ensures unanimous participation and achievement.
- Provide integrative education K-12 solutions that create function & creativity in life, expanding the love and knowledge of arts, athletics & academics.
- Promote cultural sporting knowledge, practice and competition of all types of Figure Artworks and Fancy Skating globally on any type of ice.
- Elevate skating beyond its recent limited role as a sport by being the global brand of skating as an Athletic Art.
- To unite fine, performing, decorative and recording arts on ice by drawing inspiration from the origins of Figure and Fancy Skating in the Belle Epoque Era and to combine it with jewels and art to be both culturally relevant and iconic in the modern age.
The Big Goals of World Figure Sport are to:
- Continue operations of the World Figure & Fancy Skating Championships & Festival on black ice in perpetuity with additional World Class Partners and Sponsorships.
- To have a year-round Black Ice Studio Rink with our culturally iconic and living World Figure & Fancy Skating Museum surrounded by a culinary experience. This attraction would be a cultural destination location in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains in Lake Placid, NY.
