Beacom Blossom (Gary Beacom, 2016)

Beacom Blossom was first created and performed by Gary Beacom at the 2016 World Figure Championship on black ice in Toronto (Canada) for the Creative Figure Artwork’s Segment. (The Championship is now called the World Figure & Fancy Skating Championships on Black Ice.)

Prepatory Figures:

Beacom Blossom is considered an advanced figure. Aspiring Skating Artists are encouraged to practice the following figures first. Beacom Blossom may be simplified to WFS Silver level by skipping the bracket section:

  • Quad Cupcakes (Forward and Backward; WFS Silver Exam)
  • Twin 3’s (Forward and Backward; WFS Silver Exam)
  • Loops: Forward Inside and Outside (See WFS Silver Exam; backward loops are not needed for Beacom Blossom)
  • Continuous Paragraph Loop size Figure 8’s (Forward and Backward; May be examined as a Supplemental Figure for WFS Double Platinum exam. See WFS Platinum Exam for paragraph 8’s on a large figure 8.)
  • Twin Brackets (Forward and Backward; that is, Twin 3’s replacing the 3-turns with brackets. May be examined as Supplemental Figure for WFS Platinum Exam.)
