Welcome to the 11th Anniversary of the World Figure & Fancy Skating Championships & Festival on black ice that combines Fine, Performing, Decorative, and Recording Arts from October 8-12, 2025 in the 1932 Olympic Arena in Lake Placid, NY.
Registration is open for the 2025 Black Ice Festival – All ages and levels are welcome to register and skate on the fabulous black ice and participate in our amazing Workshops, Private Lessons and/or take World Figure Sport’s Skating Exams. This unprecedented event offers unparalleled opportunities on the black ice.
To register for the Black Ice Festival Venmo @worldfiguresport – $100 for 5 pre-paid black ice sessions. Please include in the Venmo’s notes the skater’s full name, age, and mobile contact. Waivers will be signed at the registration check-in desk in the 1932 Olympic Arena before skating.
Skating on black ice is available for skaters from 9am to 9pm around competition times from Oct. 8-12, 2025. Additional ice is $20 per black ice session, workshops are $15 each, and private lessons (fees vary by the teacher) are paid prior to skating at rink side. All ice, workshops and private lessons are non-refundable.

Black Ice Practice Time $20 per 50 min session
Workshops are $15 each for 25 minutes and begin 25 minutes past each hour.
WFS Skating Exams – $20 per element examined
The Black Ice Festival is open for all ages and levels to skate on the incredible black ice and to learn the Figure Artworks and Fancy Skating. It is the perfect stage for Skating Artists at every level. The atmosphere of kindness, encouragement and gratitude makes this event memorable and lasting.
