The World Figure Sport Society is a global brand and an Athletic Skating Art with its headquarters located in Lake Placid, NY.
World Figure Sport (WFS) is the only world governing body in history to produce the World Figure & Fancy Skating Championships on black ice.
Figure and Fancy Skating is the only sport that creates and imprints art on the ice combined with flights of fancy and spinning art on either figure or hockey blades.
At WFS, the “Art of Skating” is produced with 4 major art genres: fine, performing, decorative and recording arts for global cultural relevance by combining the legacies of Skating, Jewels and Art with Sonja Henie’s epic ice shows, world class competitions by Dick Button and classic Hollywood.
The epic beginning of the new global brand of WFS occurred simultaneously with 3 total parts, the inaugural 2015 World Figure Championships on black ice (now World Figure & Fancy Skating), the founding of World Figure Sport’s Skating Hall of Fame and its first legendary inductee, Dick Button (who accepted his honor in person and was also the live-streaming commentator).
World Figure Sport continues to uphold, protect and expand the knowledge, art and competition of Figure and Fancy Skating worldwide. It combines culture, art, sport and goodwill with enriching and meaningful opportunities for full participation at all its cultural events for all ages and levels.
WFS promotes the glide, grace, and virtuosity of skating by inspiring all to learn Figure Artworks and Fancy Skating (on either Figure or Hockey Skates), set goals to achieve WFS Exams and compete in WFS competitions.
Figure patterns are found in mathematics, writing, drawing, painting, dancing, music, fiber, and culinary arts. Skating’s patterns leave a language on the ice that transcend both culture and time.

Have a year-round Black Ice Studio Rink with our living World Sk8ting & Arts School and our culturally iconic World Fancy Skating Museum surrounded by a culinary experience. This attraction would be a cultural destination location in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains in NY.
