World Figure Sport will host “Figures in Fashion Attire & Accessories Art Contest” at the World Figure & Fancy Skating Championships on Black Ice from October 7-11, 2026.
Artists of all ages are encouraged to submit artworks featuring or related to Figures in Fashion Attire & Accessories Art Contest. All mediums will be accepted and artists may submit more than one artwork when inspired to do so. Submissions will be available for viewing and judged by the WFS registered public and a special World Figure Sport’s judging panel for the 5 days of the Festival.
To process payment for the Art Contest, please use the credit card link above and/or send the fee of $25 per artwork to World Figure Sport Society’s Venmo account with a deadline of no later than Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. EST with a note stating “Art Contest at 2026 Worlds” and include your mobile in the Venmo notes.
If submitting more than one artwork into the contest, please send more than one Venmo transaction and list the note and mobile each time to help our efficiency. If you have any questions, please comment at WFS’s Global Headquarters by phone, text or WhatsApp at 518-304-3029.
All artists will submit the online art registration and information form after the artwork(s) are completed no later than Monday, October 5, 2026. Late entries that missed the entry deadline of September 1, 2026 are only accepted at the discretion of the WFS Chief Accountant. Contact WFS.
Art Contest Rankings are collected by votes of both the registered voting public and the official WFS judges. Art Contest judging concludes on Saturday evening and the WFS Chief Accountant will tally the votes and will announce the winners on Sunday evening at the Award’s Ceremony.
- Art can be any size.
- Artists should bring a 4×6 card listing:
- The Artist’s name, the artwork’s title, a short description, the art can be any genre (drawing designs of pencil, charcoal, acrylic, watercolor as well as actual creations of fiber and sewing arts to include any attire and/or accessory art, etc.). Types of embellishments are unlimited.
- Age category (under 18 or over 18)
- Based on the art mediums of entries received, the WFS Chief Account will determine any necessary art genre categories. Regardless of whether categories are separated, the top three overall winners will also be selected.
- Artists must arrange for their art and 4×6 card to be hung on the wall with 3M Command picture hanging strips that should be tested at home before shipping to make sure that it holds safely. Artworks that need to be displayed on the wall on hangers need to include all necessary and non-permanent display parts and are the responsibility of someone either attending Worlds 2026 or pre-arrangements made with WFS’s Art Ambassador.
- The UPS Store in Lake Placid should receive all the shipped Art contest packages and the return shipping is paid for by the contestant to the UPS Store in Lake Placid.
- Entries shipped to WFS can be accepted at the UPS store for safe keeping with advance notice and communication to the WFS Office at 518-304-3029 and/or UPS Store.
- Do not ship Artwork submissions before processing the Art Contest registration fee.
- Artists who need to ship their artworks must include the 3M Command picture hanging strips in the box and any other necessary and approved items for correct display.
- The shipment must arrive no later than Monday, October 5, 2026.
- Send a photo of the tracking numbers in advance to our WFS Headquarters by text message so our Art Ambassador can plan accordingly.
- Artists arriving with their artworks are responsible for checking in and communicating with our on-site WFS Art Ambassador.
- Artists arriving in person may hanging their own art using their supplied 3M Command picture hanging strips.
- Art shall include Figure Artworks in the design. Possibilities are unlimited and may be one, two or three dimensional of any size with no limits of any types to embellishments.
- Art may involve any medium: photography, drawing, painting, collage, charcoal, mixed medium, attire and accessories, etc.
- Derivative works must be granted permission of the original artist, which must be notated on the 4×6 card. For example, an entrant with collage involving photos of others’ Figure Artworks please seek their permission and receive written approval by at least text message. If the image is the property of World Figure Sport’s Archives, please request permission, receive approval by at least text message and credit in the artwork should be listed in both cases.
- Artists are responsible for taking their art home upon the conclusion of Worlds 2026 or if shipped to Worlds the artists pay the UPS store in Lake Placid to ship it home. Artists may discuss a donation to World Figure Sport’s Archives and allow WFS to sell, display or repurpose it as they determine.
