WFS cultivates a worldwide community of Skating Educators (coaches/teachers) available for on-ice private and group lessons. Plus, WFS supports our worldwide community with live on-line private and group classes each week through our World Sk8ting & Arts School from the WFS office. WFS Skating Educators are people who currently skate and/or teach skating and have learned the Fundamental (“formerly known as compulsory”), Special, Creative, Free and Flying Figures that are all a part of Fancy Skating.
A WFS Skating Educator recognizes and uses all of their tremendous knowledge of the blade’s mechanics and how the technical Figure Artwork patterns are skated on the ice — and how this ultimately affects the entire body and mind’s capacity to truly learn and understand skating’s fundamental unchanging structure of dealing with the forces of gravity, friction and centrifugal forces on the body while building solid technique at any age and level whether gliding or flying.
The Figure artworks correctly train a Skating Artist to align the body with the vectors of the forces. Thereby, building the development of the core, stability and confidence with joy to perform the unlimited repertoire of Fancy Skating elements (with or without music).
WFS fosters a deeper understanding of skating and how to create technique that achieves the least strain and torque on the body. We believe that every Skating Artist should be given both the straight line (flat) and circular tools to develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of skating. These tools and patterns of ice artworks trains both the mind and body to see, understand, and strive with more knowledge. These patterns are the life force of skating and combine the entire repertoire from its anatomy, soul, and roots to build great skating. Thus, this knowledge liberates a Skating Artist and allows one to practice alone with a deeper understanding between lessons. Positive practicing ignites one to strive to achieve our World Class Exam Levels and/or experience the incredible opportunity of the World Figure & Fancy Skating Championships on black ice (and other WFS Events for years to come).
WFS’s skating repertoire is the perfect combination of challenging but attainable for all body types and ages. WFS upholds the life force of skating knowledge for every other world organization. No matter what type of ice skating a skater is participating in – one needs WFS’s knowledge to learn the underlying base on how to build the most stable and long-lasting world class skating technique. This stable base opens the door to achieve a positive experience of exercising the mind and body in a pattern of a constant but joyful work in progress of learning and development for a lifetime.
All of World Figure Sport’s events give a Skating Artist and Coaches the tools to build greatness both on and off the ice while building resumes and opportunities that open doors if one chooses to pursue a long term career in skating, college scholarships, performances, and job opportunities with a deeper understanding and knowledge of world class technique.
The following Skating Educators/Coaches offer private lessons and consultations as needed, and may be contacted directly as noted. If one experiences any difficulty in reaching any of our Skating Educators/Coaches and one obtains no reply within 24 hours, please contact the WFS office at 518-304-3029 by phone or text message.
